Key Roles
Ensures the reliability and integrity of all plant processes and equipment through proper implementation and communication of troubleshooting and mechanical maintenance system procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Performs preventive maintenance and major/minor repairs on all Plant equipment of a mechanical nature. Ensures all equipment requiring repair or maintenance is properly secured, isolated and tagged before work begins. Inspects Plant equipment for condition and operational status. Fabricates scaffolding, high rigging and others, as maintenance and repair assignments require. Maintains electric hydraulic control system. Assists with specifying and ordering of maintenance materials and supplies. Assists with preparation of monthly maintenance reports. Assists with training and development of new or less experienced sectional staff. Provides assistance to other work groups when needed.

Identify and describe the function of the following hand tools; chisels, clamps, vice and strong backs, dies, files and abrasives, hacksaw, hammers, hammer wrenches, packing pullers, presses, propane torch, pry bars, ratchet and sockets, screwdrivers, taps, tubing benders, tubing cutters, wrenches, pliers, channel locks, and PVC pipe cutter.
Identify and describe the function of the following power tools; belt sander, bench grinder, disc sander, electric band saw, electric drill, grinder, hole saw, impact driver, hacksaw, pipe threading and cutting machine, reciprocating saw, porti-band saw, barrel pump, grease gun, circular saw, horizontal cutoff saw.
Identify and describe the function of the following rigging equipment; beam clamp, cable clamp, chain fall, chain hoist, come-a-long, eye bolt, rigging knots, rope (wire and fiber), shackles, slings (natural and synthetic), trolleys, turnbuckles, set up ladders, and inspect ladders.

Key Requirements
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. Additional mechanical related training preferred.
Experience:
Three (3) years of related mechanical maintenance experience preferred. Demonstrated experience in operating and maintaining shop equipment and tools.
Skills and Abilities:
Must have the ability to read and understand blue prints, schematic drawings, diagrams, and instruction manuals.
Must possess an effective working knowledge of plant maintenance and equipment and recordkeeping related to the maintenance system.
Must be able to properly use a wide variety of hand tools, measuring instruments, etc.
Must be able to operate mobile equipment such as man life, forklift, and trucks.

On-Call position; must have residential telephone and live within one and a half (1.5) hours of Plant; must have a valid driver's license.
Non-scheduled overtime is a normal part of the job.
Regular lifting up to 100 lbs. and occasional lifting over 100 lbs. and work at heights on ladders, gratings, and platforms.
Work environment conditions include: noise, heat in excess of 100 degrees, gas emissions, chemical vapors, dust, high-pressure lines & high voltage equipment.
Must pass an aptitude test and physical ability test and follow procedures for wearing a respirator and other personal protective equipment.
