INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TECHNICIAN CLARK ENERGY COOPERATIVE, INC. I. OBJECTIVES The position of Information Technology Technician is a position designed to assist the Technical Services Administrator with maintaining the Cooperatives information systems, including but not limited to servers, network infrastructure, workstation hardware, software applications, and other voice and data communications and infrastructure in both a traditional (inside controlled environment) and non-traditional (outside non-controlled environment) “I.T.” setting. II. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS A. Reports to: Technical Services Supervisor B. Supervise: None C. Directs: None III. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES A. Assists with the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of a wide range of hardware and software used throughout the Cooperative for various Cooperative functions. B. Respond to and provide technical support for end users of Cooperative IT systems at all Cooperative locations. C. Maintains knowledge of latest developments in related IT technologies to ensure Cooperative growth and consistency at all levels of IT infrastructure and operation. D. Maintains working knowledge of all software utilized by the Cooperative to ensure ability to provide support and troubleshooting to the end users. E. Assists with maintaining consistent operation of software and hardware devices installed for the protection of Cooperative data and resources including but not limited to antiviral and or data blocking software and hardware devices. F. Assists with the administration of multiple Microsoft and UNIX based Servers for proper configuration and utilization for optimum performance and security including group and user access policies, patches, updates, etc. G. Assists with maintenance of information and communication systems security and disaster recovery. H. Maintains operational knowledge and application of cooperative software and hardware systems for the purposes of day-to-day corporate support, trouble shooting and provide assistance to end users. I. Maintain inventory of cooperative hardware and software as well as a “blueprint” of cooperative WAN\LAN infrastructure. J. Train Clark personnel as needed in various software programs in use at the Cooperative. K. Assists with maintenance and operation of the Outage Management System. L. Assists with maintenance and operation of two-way radio communications systems. M. Assists other employees utilizing hardware\software that may not be traditional information technology but is P.C. or electronic systems such as metering infrastructure, equipment firmware updates, and reprograming. N. Adhere to Clark Energy’s safety polices and driving guidelines. O. Perform other duties as assigned IV. RELATIONSHIPS A. VI. ABILITIES AND SKILLS A. Must have ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent deadlines. B. Must be self-motivated. C. Must be able to accurately relay information. D. Must have ability to learn commercial and utility specific software and hardware. E. Must be able to interpret technical documentation. F. Must possess technology trouble shooting principles and resolution techniques. G. Must possess excellent communication skills. H. Working knowledge of various office equipment. I. Must be able to work flexible hours and may be required to respond to situations at all hours of the day or night.
Education: Associates Degree in Computer Science\Information systems required. Prior work experience may be substituted for formal training. B. Desirable: Software\Hardware Certifications. C. Experience: Minimum two years of prior on-the-job experience in IT related activities. D. Personal Abilities: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. E. Must work independently and without daily direct supervision. F. Position requires standing, walking, sitting and lifting. G. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to operate passenger vehicles. VI. ABILITIES AND SKILLS A.
