At Brazos Electric Power Cooperative, we're looking for a talented Drafter to join our dynamic Engineering team. This is your chance to be a part of a leading power cooperative, working on exciting projects that keep our community powered and connected.
What You'll Do:
As a Drafter, you'll be at the heart of our project development process, creating detailed construction drawings and supporting documentation using cutting-edge CADD software (MicroStation). You'll work closely with higher-level team members to bring new projects to life and enhance existing facilities. Your role will include:
- Design Excellence: Prepare detailed construction drawings and maintain both paper and electronic files. Create “as-built” drawings from field and engineering mark-ups, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Project Support: Assist in processing work orders, develop material lists, and update Brazos specification standards. Provide crucial administrative support, including contract assembly and project data compilation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering staff to resolve problems, gather information at project sites, and explain drawings to construction teams. Foster strong working relationships with Brazos employees and member coop personnel.

- Drafter I: Entry-level position with an Associate Degree in Drafting or Design Technology. No experience required. Alternatively, 2 years of design and CAD experience
- Drafter II: Associate Degree in Drafting or Design Technology and 1 year of experience in design and CAD proficiency. Alternatively, 3 years of design and CAD experience.
- Drafter III: Associate Degree in Drafting or Design Technology and 2 years of experience in design and CAD proficiency. Alternatively, 4 years of design and CAD experience.
