Summary:
Provide for the operation, installation, testing, checkout and maintenance of relaying, controls and associated equipment on the Great River Energy (GRE) system. Responsible for working safely.

Responsibilities: Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Performs and/or assists in the testing and maintenance of both electromechanical and microprocessor relaying equipment as well as controls, disturbance recorders, instrumentation devices, and associated equipment in power substations, distribution substations, and generation plants.
Performs and/or assists in the installation, testing, checkout of new protective relaying equipment such as relays, controls, disturbance recorders, instrumentation devices, and associated equipment in power substations, distribution substations, and generation plants
Develop and update maintenance procedures along with maintaining equipment records in area of responsibility.

Qualifications:
Minimum education requirements include a two-year technical degree/diploma in electrical/computer/electronics related courses. Transmission system protection and control experience and the equivalent of two years of directly related electrical experience is preferred. Strong electrical and relaying aptitude, prior experience working with power system protection, electromechanical and microprocessor relays strongly preferred.
