Position Summary We are seeking a Workforce Development and Training Manager to lead EnergyUnited's workforce training initiatives. This role will focus on evaluating training needs, developing and implementing programs, and ensuring employees have the skills to excel in their roles and meet the organization's evolving needs.
What Would You Do?
Lead the charge in planning, developing, and rolling out impactful training programs that elevate EnergyUnited’s workforce.
Pinpoint skill gaps and craft innovative curriculums to prepare employees for today’s challenges and tomorrow’s opportunities.
Conduct deep dive needs analyses to uncover and address emerging skill requirements.
Evaluate employee performance to pinpoint training needs and unlock potential.
Partner with teams across the company to align training initiatives with strategic business goals.
Champion talent development by identifying rising stars and tailoring career growth plans for them.
Map out career paths for critical roles, fostering growth and retention within the organization.
Design and deliver engaging, next-level training programs, blending online and in-person formats with impactful learning materials.
Synchronize training efforts across departments like safety, IT, HR, and member support for maximum impact.
Inspire and empower employees at every level by delivering high-quality training to leaders, supervisors, and individual contributors.
Measure success through post-training assessments, performance metrics, and real-time feedback to ensure programs deliver results.

Manage and optimize the training budget with a sharp eye on value and ROI.
Keep managers in the know by updating them on policies and procedures through engaging training sessions.
Use data-driven insights to identify training needs and measure the effectiveness of programs.
Ensure all training initiatives comply with industry regulations and legal standards, maintaining a culture of integrity.
What You Need
A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Training, Learning Design, or a related field.
7–10+ years of experience in learning and development, with a strong grasp of adult learning principles and instructional design.
Bonus points for experience in the utility or cooperative industry.
Exceptional skills in presenting, engaging stakeholders, and influencing decisions.
Sharp ability to analyze data and performance metrics to uncover training needs and measure success.
Solid project management skills to plan, execute, and deliver impactful initiatives.
Familiarity with workforce trends and high-demand industries in the area.
Ability to thrive in cross-functional collaborations and work autonomously.
HRCI or SHRM certification is a plus!
Proficiency in MS Office tools like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
More About This Position
Standard hours: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with occasional irregular hours.
Hybrid work arrangement requiring periodic in-office attendance.
Must reside within 40 miles of any EnergyUnited regional office or within the 19 counties we serve.
Must maintain a valid North Carolina driver’s license and a safe driving record.
