A Brief Overview The Advanced Metering Information (AMI) Management Specialist is responsible for the management, coordination, testing and planning of the advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) and meter systems applications. The position ensures the accurate configuration of the Meter Data Management System (MDMS).
What you will do • Provide expertise for functionality configuration, and data delivery services • Manage the AMI system to ensure daily schedules are run within required limits • Manage, monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, and ensure timely repairs of the AMI system, network, and associated equipment • Manage the day-to-day AMI system health issues and activities • Oversee and monitor AMI orphans and no-read reports, trouble tickets, High/Low validation reports and make recommendations • Address AMI communications issues. Monitor and analyze AMI GIS shape files for problems. Troubleshoot and correct as necessary • Ensure that customer issues related to the AMI and metering system are investigated and addressed in a timely manner • Ensure all meters are calibrated and reporting accurately and the system performance is within required limits • Ensure read schedules run in accordance with billing schedules, data collection services and data delivery services • Manage and monitor AMI meter data gathering hierarchy and optimize configuration as necessary. Analyze and correct meter and account data relative to AMI • Maintains necessary records and prepares oral and written reports; reviews account records, history, and issues or approve adjustments to customer accounts to correct errors or resolve escalated disputes • Prepares special/or recurring reports and/or special studies; develops recommendations to improve department operations; coordinates work with various departments and other users in making system modifications
Qualifications • Associate's degree Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field Required • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job • 3-5 years Supporting integrations and data exchange between multiple application systems, and relational database experience Required • Practices, methods, techniques, tools, and equipment used in the reading, installation, testing, calibration, maintenance and repair of small, medium, and large meters that utilize AMI components • Process mapping and structured problem solving, theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to develop and monitor performance standards • Record keeping principles and procedures • Effective use of modern equipment and communication tools used for business functions and program, project, and task coordination, including computers and software programs relevant to work performed • Driver License Required
