Citizens Electric Corporation is seeking a Transmission Planner to provide analysis and support for the planning and operations of the transmission system at our headquarters in Perryville, Missouri.
The Transmission Planner plays a critical role in support of the reliability and safety of Citizens Electric's service territory, ensuring that the system is kept in compliance with transmission standards and codes. This leader performs studies and analysis to develop and design projects for existing and future system loading using best practices while keeping budgets and regulatory considerations. They ensure the system is weather hardened and reliability is maintained. Assistance with outage restoration can be required in support of our 24/7 operation.
This role requires interaction and coordination with other internal departments, particularly engineering and operations. Communicates regularly with MISO and other external organization committees and working groups.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Professional Engineering license in the State of Missouri is strongly preferred. Minimum of five years of experience in the design, operation and maintenance of electric transmission facilities with previous experience with MISO (or other RTO) and NERC compliance procedures preferred.
Citizens Electric is a not-for-profit corporation operating as an electric cooperative, servicing 49 substations across 2,817 miles of distribution and transmission lines, within six counties. Given the Corporation's large industrial load, it is the largest Missouri co-op by KWH sales.
