At East River Electric Power Cooperative we're dedicated to providing reliable and affordable wholesale power to our members across 40,000 square miles of service area. As a not-for-profit generation and transmission cooperative, we provide electricity to 24 rural electric distribution cooperatives and one municipally owned electric system serving eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota. Help with the design and engineering tasks for our transmission projects, working closely with seasoned engineers and teaming up with both our staff and outside consultants.
Develop project scopes, designs, drawings, and specs following East River's standards, and you'll review engineering work to keep everything on track.
Support our construction efforts, help with choosing the right equipment and materials, and make sure deadlines are met.
Gather and organize technical documents, charts, maps, and specs for our maintenance and improvement projects.
Help keep our systems like GIS and Asset Management up to date.
Learn new tools and bring creative solutions to the team, all while working in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Showcase Your Knowledge, Abilities, and Expertise. Do you have?
Bachelor's degree in engineering
Some direct utility or general engineering experience is a plus but not required
Registration as a Professional Engineer, or the ability to obtain one within four years, is preferred
Effective written and verbal communication skills
The ability to prioritize tasks, collaborate with team members, and build strong working relationships
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products and computer technology
