Job Summary:
The Social Media Coordinator supports Middle Tennessee Electric’s mission to provide safe, reliable, affordable electricity and outstanding member service by developing and managing strategic social media content that informs and engages members in a meaningful way.
This position plays a key role in communicating timely updates (including outages, safety messages, programs, and community initiatives) and promoting MTE’s brand identity, which emphasizes trust, service, transparency, innovation, and community as described in MTE’s communication philosophy.
Job Requirements:
Encompass the three virtues of the Ideal Team Player (Humble, Hungry & People Smart).
Must have a four-year degree from an accredited college in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field, along with one to three years of experience creating and managing content for organizational social media accounts. Six years of related experience may be considered in lieu of college degree.
Candidates must also have experience with social media publishing tools, analytics platforms, and basic graphic design.
Must have knowledge of social media best practices, trends, and platform standards and the ability to analyze social metrics and convert them into actionable insights.
Must have strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling ability.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and professional communication judgment.
Must have the ability to multi-task and remain calm and responsive during outages or crisis communication.
Must have a passion for member service and community engagement consistent with cooperative principles.
