The Tree Groundman position is an entry level position where the employee will learn tree removal and trimming operations, such as operating equipment, hauling debris, cleaning worksites, and ensuring overall safety.
Essential Functions
Uses common tree removal and trimming tools, including but not limited to chainsaws and chippers.
Clears branches, brush, logs, and other debris from the work site.
Assists tree climbers in the removal and trimming of trees.
Loads and unloads trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris and/or feeds brush into a wood shipper.

Minimum Job Specifications
Education/Experience
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Job Specification
Knowledge of the proper usage, maintenance, and repair of a chain saw desired.
Knowledge of knots and equipment used in climbing.

Frequent standing, walking, stooping, twisting, reaching, range of motion, depth perception, climbing, gripping, carrying, and pushing and pulling.
Exposure to hazards, such as hazardous equipment, energized power lines, traffic hazards, and falling tree limbs.
Outside weather conditions with occasional inside office work.
Frequent work under inclement weather conditions will be required.
Works in all temperatures and weather and will be exposed to nature.
Exposure to weather conditions above 100F and below 32F can be expected.
Exposure to irritating plants, biting/stinging insects, and dust and dirt.
Medium work requiring exertion of up to 50-75 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds of force more frequently. Lifting and carrying 10 to 50 pounds occasionally.
Reaching and lifting overhead is required.
Must be able to use hand tools and other equipment to complete work.
Work around excessive noise from equipment with hearing protection.
Works on uneven terrain.
Use and knowledge of safety equipment required and provided.
Certificates/Licenses
Must be able to obtain and maintain valid CDL Class A license within 6 months of hire
