About NRECA&#39;s Group Benefit Program (GBP) The GBP is a multiple employer plan organized and administered in accordance with the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA). Job Summary Leads and manages the actuarial work supporting NRECA&#39;s health and welfare benefit plans, working closely with other internal teams and NRECA&#39;s outside actuarial consulting partners.  Keyboard proficiency with excellent PC skills and knowledge.

 Responsibilities 
 
 Perform diversified work, including but not limited to the construction, installation, maintenance, and removal of structures, equipment, underground or overhead, energized, and de-energized electric lines, of all classes and voltages. 
 Work with the Work Management &#38; Design Supervisor, Operations Supervisor, Lead Linemen, Utility Men, Linemen, System Operators, AMI Technician, Electric Technicians, Member Service Representatives and others as required to perform problem solving and troubleshooting as a first responder for member and power quality concerns involving problems with, but not limited to, transformer banks, regulators, line capacitors, oil circuit reclosures, service conductors and meters, on both energized and de-energized lines. 
 Communicate as required with member-owners in the field while performing the duties of a lineman. 
 Complete all associated paperwork and recordkeeping to ensure that the work completed in the field is timely and accurately provided for input into the Cooperative&#8217;s information systems. 
 Perform restoration to member-owners or initiates procedures to restore service during and after hours. 
 Aid and assist in the training of other team members. 
 Responsible for vehicle, tools, and other SVEC equipment assigned for his/her use. 
 Assist in special projects as necessary. 
 
 Education and Experience 
 
 High School Diploma or GED 
 Documentation of completion of an approved Lineman Training Program that certifies the employee as a journeyman lineman. 
 Documentation of completion of SVEC approved training. 
 Demonstrate an expertise in specific installation and operation of power system equipment. 
 Experience in Rural Electrification is preferred. 
 Must possess a valid Commercial Driver&#8217;s license, Class A. 
 Must obtain and hold forklift and flagman certification in the state of Virginia. 
 
 Required Skills and Abilities 
 
 Must be able to maintain professionalism and control under all circumstances. 
 Has and maintains a valid driver&#8217;s license and acceptable driving record and is able to operate SVEC vehicles. 
 Must become and remain certified in CPR and first aid. Must also be skilled in the use of safety equipment.

 Physical Requirements  
 
 Participation in SVEC job safety and training programs, relevant workshops, seminars and other SVEC sponsored courses and events. 
 Must be able to use office equipment including telephone, computer, and other systems and related software in the performance of position responsibilities. 
 Must be able and available, during any and all types of weather conditions, to work weekends, holidays, evenings and other times outside normal duty hours to assist in service restoration and other emergencies that may arise or when the workload demands. 
 Must always maintain an operating telephone or personal communication device at his/her place of residence. Ability to contact the telephone or personal communication device must be made available to SVEC for the purpose of contacting the manager to conduct legitimate routine and/or emergency business. 
 This position involves primarily outside work and may require occasional lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing 130 pounds or more, and routine lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. 
 This position also requires routine walking, standing, some pulling, pushing, stooping, kneeling, climbing of poles and structures, and exposure to dirt and water, under all weather conditions. 
 Residency requirement: Must make his/her residence within forty (40) minutes legal driving time to the district office where he/she is assigned.&#xa0; This is an employment requirement that must be adhered to within 6 months of hire or transfer.  Key Responsibilities 
 
 Administers enterprise server infrastructure, both physical and virtual. Installs, configures, monitors, maintains, and troubleshoots hardware and software components across all platforms to maximize uptime, ensure greatest possible cybersecurity posture, and optimize overall system performance; handles all standard and complex issues. 
 Maintains Hyper-V virtualization environments, including host configuration, virtual machine lifecycle management, performance optimization, and troubleshooting; owns all standard operational processes. 
 Implements, manages, and secures enterprise-wide cybersecurity tools and controls including vulnerability scanning, data backup and recovery, firewalls, IDS/IPS, log monitoring, VPN, data encryption, email protection, and antivirus technologies in alignment with established security architecture, policies, and industry standards. 
 Operates and supports cloud infrastructure and services, such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Responsibilities include provisioning resources, managing access and security, monitoring usage and costs, and assisting with cloud migration and integration projects. 
 Administers Microsoft 365 services including Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams; IAM, security/compliance settings, and licensing. 
 Evaluates, tests, and assists with the implementation of AI agents or automation tools to improve monitoring, documentation, operational efficiency, or end-user support; develops scripts and workflows. 
 Leads and manages moderately complex IT infrastructure projects, including planning, implementation, testing, documentation, and post-implementation support; drives modernization initiatives within assigned areas. 
 Administers network infrastructure (switches/routers/firewalls/WLAN controllers/APs); monitors, troubleshoots, performs firmware updates, and implements configuration changes to maximize uptime and security. 
 Provides Tier 2 and Tier 3 support and problem identification and diagnosis of end user desktops, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and associated software and applications; owns problems through resolution; updates knowledge base and provides user training. 
 
 &#xa0; Qualifications 
 
 Bachelor&#8217;s degree in information technology or related field, or any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described required. Industry certifications such as CCNA, MCSE, CompTIA Network+, VCP, or CISSP are highly desired. 
 A minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in a Systems Administration-related field is required. 
 Experience working with the technologies outlined in the job functions section and within a holistic cybersecurity program. Demonstrates familiarity with modern AI tools and platforms, including Microsoft Copilot and AI-enabled workflows. Experience working in the utility industry and administering NISC enterprise software is beneficial.
