The Environmental Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing environmental compliance and provide the initiative, technical ability, and responsibility required to give AECC a well-designed, soundly constructed, reliable, and correctly operated generation and transmission system in compliance with state and federal environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Directs the works on permitting of reviews operations of, and routine inspections of AECC power plants and transmission facilities regarding matters of environmental compliance.
• Monitors and evaluates methods of compliance of AECC generation and transmission facilities with environmental requirements.
• Manages environmental permitting and environmental approvals for construction associated with AECC facilities.
• Maintains knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and conveys that knowledge to other AECC staff.
• Manages and delegates work to a staff of environmental associates.
• Researches and writes technical plans and reports.
• Represent AECC on various EPRI, NRECA, and AEF committees and working groups.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• The ability to handle stress and work well with others are essential functions of this position.
• The ability to work overtime.
• The ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, plus at least 8 years total related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years related management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Registered Professional Engineer (PE), Experience with permitting and compliance in power generation and transmission.
