The Environmental Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing environmental compliance and provide the initiative, technical ability, and responsibility required to give AECC a well-designed, soundly constructed, reliable, and correctly operated generation and transmission system in compliance with state and federal environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
Directs the works on permitting of reviews operations of, and routine inspections of AECC power plants and transmission facilities regarding matters of environmental compliance.
Monitors and evaluates methods of compliance of AECC generation and transmission facilities with environmental requirements.
Manages environmental permitting and environmental approvals for construction associated with AECC facilities.
Maintains knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and conveys that knowledge to other AECC staff.
Manages and delegates work to a staff of environmental associates.
Researches and writes technical plans and reports.
Represent AECC on various EPRI, NRECA, and AEF committees and working groups.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
The ability to handle stress and work well with others are essential functions of this position.
The ability to work overtime.
The ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, plus at least 8 years total related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5 years related management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Registered Professional Engineer (PE), Experience with permitting and compliance in power generation and transmission.
