We are looking for a candidate that has a four-year degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. Preference will be given for PE licensing and for utility experience.This person will provide support to the Engineering Department to facilitate planning and attainment of established goals.
They must demonstrate strong initiative, communication skills, ability to meet commitments, proactive, creative, well-organized, self-starter, highly motivated and ability to work under high demand situations. Assists in the preparation and implementation of the long range and construction work plans and studies while using Milsoft Windmill and Light Table to ensure safe and reliable coordination of system protective devices. Responsible for assisting with many aspects of the general design and maintenance of Midstate's overhead, underground, transmission and distribution systems and substations. Ensures compliance with Midstate's standards and preventative maintenance programs, and system coordination of fusing, relaying, and other protective equipment as well as SCADA. Reviews Midstate, RUS and NESC standards of construction for transmission and distribution systems as directed. Monitors preparation and maintenance of maps, drawings, letters, contract agreements and other records related to design, construction and operation of the electrical system and physical property of the cooperative as directed.
Must reside within 45-minute driving radius of headquarters. Midstate works a 4/10 schedule. Position is open until filled. EEOE

MEC's territory covers 5,600 square miles and provides electric service to four counties and just over 22,000 members.
