Vermont Electric Cooperative (VEC) seeks a proven leader with a demonstrated background in process improvement and collaboration across teams for its Warehouse Services Manager position.
This employee oversees the hub that keeps all of our operations operating: inventory/warehouse management, purchasing, fleet management, and facilities. Much of the work involves communication across team and with external partners, so excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. This individual has to manage vendor and contractor relationships across multiple disciplines serving multiple sites and will need strong negotiating skills and the ability to build rapport with a wide variety of partners.
Fortunately, you will not be alone. There is a team in place already that is widely respected in the company and works well together. As a member of the Finance division, you would be well supported by committed team, many who have overseen aspects of this role and can help mentor you.
The ideal candidate has enough familiarity with the electric utility industry to be familiar with inventory needs and terminology; has experience leading teams; is a skilled negotiator with a track record of getting results with vendor issues; can collaborate and find consensus with different stakeholders who have different priorities. A degree in Business Administration or similar is highly helpful.
In case the ideal candidate does not exist, but you fit many or most of what we're looking for, you should still apply. We encourage you to navigate to our jobs page, vermontelectric.coop/careers, find this posting there and read the job description in full. Then, be sure to furnish a cover letter connecting the dots for us from your current experience and how it will translate to what we are looking for.
VEC encourages applicants of all backgrounds and identities and is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are a proud Voluntary Protection Program company; the only compromise we refuse to make is on safety. This position is local and hybrid, with some travel to branch locations within our service area necessary. Our service area covers from Lake Champlain to the Connecticut River in beautiful rural Northern Vermont.
AA or higher in Business Administration or equivalent.
