The Energy Solutions Technician will be a key part of a growing initiative that delivers value to the Cooperative membership through programs and services aligned with our Brighter Future roadmap. This position will provide thorough service to residential and commercial members relating to energy efficiency and conservation programs.
Essential Functions:
Elevate member experience with education and assistance regarding energy usage and energy efficiency.
Work on projects related to integrated distribution planning and distributed energy resource programs (solar, non-solar distributed generation, electric vehicles, battery storage, demand response, and energy efficiency).
Provide members with education on renewables, battery storage, electric vehicles, rate options and distributed energy resources.
Conduct or facilitate home energy audits and provide education and information on weatherization, new construction, heat pump installation, efficient water heating, Energy Star, and any other associated rebate programs.
Act as the primary contact for residential or commercial members regarding questions related to net metering, DER integration and various efficiency programs. Coordinate with appropriate departments for field visits, etc., if necessary.
Act as the primary contact for energy efficiency information related to HVAC, lighting and construction.
Perform a variety of special projects and miscellaneous duties in alignment with corporate strategy.
Participate in outside community opportunities, such as: home shows, Fairs, business expos, various public educational venues, etc.
Assist in the operations of BEMC owned EV facilities, including working with vendors and overseeing the building of potential future locations.
Assist the Energy Solutions Supervisor with design and implementation of new programs and offerings.
Serve as BEMC representative in commissioning new solar net meter accounts.
Requirements
High School diploma plus 2 years' experience in the electric utility industry, residential/commercial electrical industry or equivalent.
Strong communication & customer service skills.
Strong proficiency in MS office applications.
Willingness to obtain Energy Auditor certification.
Preferred
Associates degree in business, engineering or related field.
Experience in dealing with advanced energy resources and/or advanced distribution management systems.
