Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association is seeking an Energy Resources Director who wants an exciting work atmosphere and to be a part of a team dedicated to safe, reliable, energy efficient solutions with exceptional service.
The Energy Resources Director works under the general direction of the Vice President, Technology and Energy Resources, to support strategic goals of the Association. The Director oversees a team who conduct energy audits, provide energy efficiency recommendations, coordinate demand response activities, and manage electric vehicle programs, distributed energy resource programs and interconnection, and other energy related programs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Department’s operational planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.
Develop the annual work plan and budget by projecting operating expenses and recommending capital expenditures for the next year; continually evaluate departmental expenditures in relationship to annual work plan and budget to maintain acceptable variance parameters.
Develop, implement, and manage clean energy projects, energy efficiency, energy as a service and behind the meter applications, beneficial electrification programs and member energy solutions.
Lead or support the execution of projects of integrated distribution planning, distributed energy resource programs (solar PV, non-solar distributed generation, electric vehicles, energy storage, demand response, energy efficiency) including all DER interconnections.
Represent the interests of the Association on renewable, clean, energy efficient related topics with members, at conferences, and other public forums.
Direct the development and deployment of products, services and programs aimed at Association’s long-term strategy.
Performs or assists in performing analytical studies and direct cost benefit studies for energy resource programs for cost effectiveness and prepares program descriptions outlining details of the program and the programs implementation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related field is required.
Five years in the electric utility industry.
Past supervisory experience is required.
Experience in dealing with advanced energy resources is highly desired. Must be familiar with grid transformation principle.
