The Board of Directors of Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative (ILEC) invites applications for the position of President and Chief Executive Officer. The Board has engaged Holmes Executive Search LLC to facilitate the search process.
ILEC is a financially sound and operationally strong non-profit, electric distribution cooperative headquartered in Estherville, Iowa. ILEC employs 62 dedicated team members and has six service centers throughout the eight-county service territory. ILEC serves over 13,000 farms, homes, businesses, and industries in northwest Iowa. ILEC has 38% residential and 62% commercial and industrial loads with revenue over $63 million annually.
The President & CEO is responsible for the overall management of ILEC and reports directly to the 14-member Board of Directors.
Candidate requirements, although not all inclusive:
A high level of senior management experience in the electric utility industry or related field.
Understand the cooperative principles, governance, policies, bylaws, and the CEO/Board relationship.
Communicate effectively with a diverse membership, other stakeholders, as well as with team members.
Demonstrate team building skills and conduct self with the highest levels of ethics and integrity.
Ability to lead all the strategic initiatives and functions required of an electric distribution cooperative.
A firm grasp of the electric utility industries’ evolving legislative and regulatory challenges.
Excellent people skills and ability to represent the cooperative well in the community.
Industry knowledge with a focus on community, industrial and economic development is desirable.
Estherville has a population just under 5,900. Estherville and the surrounding communities are wonderful places to spend free time with nature while hiking, kayaking, hunting and fishing.
