Be a champion of safety culture • Coordinate the cooperative’s safety program • Be familiar with the BEMC safety manual and existing policies, procedures and regulations • Ensure the cooperative meets the criteria of the NRECA and Rural Electric Safety Achievement Program (RESAP) • Keep abreast of new or changing laws, regulations or technical developments • Collaborate on the planning and implementation of safety policies and procedures • Serve as point of contact for Federated Insurance and OSHA on-site visits • Present safety messages to all audiences • Must have ability to receive and maintain confidential information
Bachelor’s degree preferred or a minimum of eight (8) years of training/experience • Additional education or training in an electric distribution system, with focus on safety is highly desirable • Must have Certified Loss Control Professional Certificate or obtain within two years of accepting position • Minimum of eight (8) years field experience in an electrical distribution system • Must have valid CDL and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report • Must have or obtain first aid, CPR and AED instructor certifications • Computer skills are a must (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook) • Knowledge of electric utility construction standards and National Electric Safety Code
