Owen Electric Cooperative, Inc. is accepting resumes for a Metering Systems Administrator. We will be accepting applications/resumes until position is filled.
This position is responsible for the administration and maintenance of Owen Electric’s metering systems including AMI, demand response, meter programming and testing. This person will also be responsible for coordinating the various meter department activities such as meter installations, exchanges, testing and inspections while ensuring that all applicable Public Service Commission requirements are met. Additionally, this position will be instrumentally involved in database management and analytics of the meter data including quality control and system integration.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education:
Associates degree required in Electronics, Computer Science, Engineering or job-related field is required. Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred.
Experience:
Experience working with databases and utility metering is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong technical and organizational skills are essential.
Highly self-motivated with keen attention to detail; requiring minimal supervision.
Knowledge of Microsoft office applications, familiarity with relational databases such as Excel or Access and use of mobile devices and computers.
Computer network and data communication skills are preferred.
Knowledge of electrical distribution operations and metering is preferred.
Must have strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
Requires ability to work safely around high and low voltage equipment.
Communicate and interact with personnel at all levels of the organization in a professional and respectful manner.
Must be able to work in an environment with constant interruptions.
