A Brief Overview The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing and repairing fleet vehicles, equipment and light trucks to include inspecting vehicles, performing routine service and keeping records of work performed.
What you will do * Perform replacing fluids, lubricating parts, changing tires, replacing or adjusting brakes, inspections, and other preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment and other powered rolling equipment replacing common parts and making adjustments as necessary. Maintain a computerized database of vehicle maintenance, repair activities and parts used in work activities to ensure accurate records are kept. * Use diagnostic equipment to evaluate mechanical problems in fleet vehicles creating service requests and reports as necessary. Submit recommendations for the performance of major mechanical requirements. * Maintain garage and related work area in a neat, clean, safe, and orderly condition free of recognized hazards. * Assist with conducting physical inventory cycle counts and other audits, as required or requested. * Assist in purchasing and maintaining inventory of necessary parts, equipment and garage supplies for fleet maintenance and garage. * Assist Mechanic with major repairs on all types of equipment including but not limited to all fleet vehicles, trailers, and power operated equipment. * Assist with maintaining warehouse and storage yard clean and free of debris performing general housekeeping of outside grounds of warehouse, as requested.

Qualifications * High School Diploma High school diploma or equivalent Required or * Associate's Degree Automotive Mechanics or related field Preferred or * An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job * 1-3 years Maintenance Mechanic or related experience Required * Must have thorough knowledge and experience with but not limited to: hydraulic systems, gas engines, diesel engines, electrical systems, drive trains and various hand tools * Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A) Upon Hire Required * Forklift Certification Required * Inspection/ASE Certification Preferred
