Working in a new control center with cutting edge situational awareness technologies, the Dispatcher monitors and operates the power system including dispatching crews during emergency events on the transmission system. Plans, coordinates, and executes switching operations with field crews within substations and on transmission lines. Works to maintain the highest level of safety and reliability across the power system operating under NERC standards.
Qualifications:
High school diploma. Associate or Bachelor of Science degree preferred. One to three years system operator experience and NERC System Operator certification is preferred; however, all experience levels will be considered. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to obtain NERC System Operator certification. Essential skills include basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications, strong attention to detail, ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and excellent verbal and written communication skills. The successful applicant will have the ability to solve problems under time critical scenarios and should be eager to learn new skills.
