Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative is seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of SCADA Operator in Willcox, AZ.
The Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Operator monitors SSVEC’s electric grid system performance and identifies potential issues utilizing a computer system called SCADA. The SCADA Operator utilizes SCADA and the Outage Management System (OMS) to switch or move electricity from one area to another to complete routine maintenance and construction projects with minimal interruption.

Executes switching procedures during emergencies to facilitate the safe and efficient restoration of electricity.
Utilizes various computer systems to implement, monitor, and execute load control strategies during electrical peaks and system emergencies.
Detects system problems and performance-related issues and works with other departments to help troubleshoot and resolve them.
Requires continuous sitting and concentration to monitor multiple systems for extended periods of time.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and currently possess or has the ability to obtain an AA degree in Electric Power Technology or related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience (2-4 yrs.) in utility power fundamentals and utility load management.
Valid Arizona driver’s license.
