Due to an internal promotion, West Central Electric Cooperative (WCE) is looking for a reliable, detail oriented Operations Assistant/Inspector to support our Higginsville operations team. If you enjoy a mix of office work, field work, and working directly with members and landowners, this role offers variety, stability, and the chance to make a meaningful impact in your community.
What You’ll Do
Convert work orders to accurate “as built” records using the NISC mapping program
Inspect poles and lines to assess condition, safety, and maintenance needs
Work with members and landowners to negotiate, prepare, and record right of way easements
Support operations staff with administrative and technical tasks as needed
Inspect meter installations and ditches; deliver material to contractors
What We’re Looking For
Strong computer skills and willingness to learn new software (Mapwise, ArcMap, etc.)
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
Two years of experience with a rural electric cooperative
Knowledge of — or willingness to learn — distribution line design, NESC regulations, and right of way easement procedures
