Under direction of the Engineering and Operations Manager, a Purchasing Warehouseperson monitors line material, creates and issues purchase orders, charges out warehouse stock and prepares semi-annual inventory, cleaning and maintenance of the warehouse and pole yard to standards required by WOEC. Perform the handling and delivery function of a variety of administrative and electric utility materials and supplies and ensure the accurate and efficient receipt, storage, tracking, distribution, inventory, and salvage of those materials. This position will perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree.
Valid Oregon State driver’s license.
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in warehousing operations or experience in a similar field of work that demonstrates experience and competency in a variety of warehouse operations activities.
Valid First Aid/CPR Card, or the ability to obtain within 3 months of regular status employment.
Forklift Certification, or the ability to obtain within 6 months of regular status employment.
Must be willing, available, and responsive to 24-hour callout for emergency situations.
Union membership is required within 30 days after hire date- IBEW Local 125

Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and issue purchase orders. Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to Co-op policy. Receive, account for, and deliver materials.
Monitor state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to public agency purchasing. Interpret and apply Co-op policy and procedures and make recommendations for improvement to process.
Maintain a clean, orderly work environment for the purpose of safety, security, and inventory control; perform proper preventive maintenance on all tools and equipment; store materials and supplies neatly in assigned areas.
Correspond with manufacturer representatives and agents regarding quotes, bids, delivery schedules and performance. Monitor and report on changes in price and delivery dates.
Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability. Maintain optimal inventory in the most cost-effective manner.
Conduct and reconcile an annual inventory of utility materials and equipment. Arrange for disposal of surplus material according to Co-op policy.
Safely operate material handling equipment including a forklift. Complete safety checks and minor routine maintenance on lift equipment.
Perform work in a safe manner in conformance with all applicable policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
Report all unsafe acts, accidents, or conditions to the Engineering and Operations Manager or in their absence the General Foreman.
Complete all required documentation on paper or electronically.
Maintain certifications of the most up-to-date and effective techniques of first aid, CPR, and flagging certification.
Other duties as assigned and as qualified to perform.
Participation in cooperative strategy and initiatives.
This is a full-time position. This position requires that the employee be available for work outside the normal daily work period, which is, Monday - Friday 7:30AM to 4:00PM. Starting June 30, 2025, the work schedule will be Monday – Thursday 6:30AM to 5:00PM. Travel may be required within the five-county service territory during the business day and occasionally overnight.
