We currently have an opening for a Data Analyst in our IT department.  This position will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Maintains a safe working environment by adhering to policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Gathers data from various sources and ensures its accuracy and integrity.  
• Analyzes complex data sets and draws meaningful conclusions to support Boone Electric’s business decisions. 
• Utilizes third-party utility financial, customer information systems, engineering, mapping, and metering software to analyze data, create reports, and build visual exhibits for Boone Electric personnel. 
• Cleans and preprocesses data, ensuring its accuracy and reliability. 
• Utilize statistical techniques to identify trends, patterns, and correlations within the data. 
• Works closely with cross-functional departments to understand their data needs and provide insights to improve processes and strategies. 
• Collaborates with all departments to ensure data systems are robust and optimized for performance. 
• Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop reports and dashboards to monitor and communicate business performance. 
• Tackles complex business challenges using data-driven approaches and is prepared to defend their opinion on recommendations. 
• Assist with integrating AI into business processes.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities required for this position:

• Must possess a bachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Four years of service preferred but not required with a utility or similar business that uses similar software platforms. 
• Must be able to organize work to meet deadlines independently with little supervision.
• Requires a high degree of accuracy with attention to detail
• Strong SQL knowledge for database management and querying.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information.

Other Requirements:

Regular, predictable, in-person attendance is required. Overtime may be required. A criminal background check and drug test will be conducted after a job offer is made. Boone Electric Cooperative is a drug-free workplace.
