Eastern Maine Electric Cooperative (EMEC) invites applications for the position of Manager of Finance.

EMEC is a financially sound and operationally strong consumer-owned electric distribution cooperative headquartered in Calais, ME.  EMEC employs 35 extremely dedicated team members. EMEC serves 13,000 residential, seasonal, and businesses in Eastern Maine.

Responsibilities include:           

1. Financial statement review & analysis
2. Financial studies & cost analysis
3. Ensure timely preparation of financial statements and management reports
4. Coordinate annual financial audit
5. Monthly bank reconciliations
6. Oversee the automated payment processing of phone payments & from E-billing
7. Cash management
8. Provide backup assistance to the payroll department
9. Annual tax return
10. Oversee the credit/collections department
11. Oversees of the billing and accounting departments and the office employees

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word. 
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot different situations as well as the ability to pay attention to detail while understanding the overall picture.
