Perform scheduled vehicle and equipment servicing. Must have proven diesel mechanic and hydraulic equipment experience. Perform repairs as needed on District vehicles, power-operated equipment, maintain shop area in a clean and orderly manner, perform general welding, and repair. Maintain adequate records of fuel, oil change, scheduled maintenance, and warranties. Responsible for ordering parts for District vehicles. Accountable for maintaining a necessary supply of parts and tools for the shop. Assist in unloading freight as needed. General repair of District property. Assist in mowing and snow removal as needed. Water, AED, Fire Extinguisher testing, maintenance, and documentation. Become and remain certified in CPR and first aid. A minimum Class A commercial driver's license. Be able to troubleshoot and diagnose problems/issues. Other items as assigned or needed.
Must be able to: carry and lift up to 50 pounds, be able to climb, bend, reach, and lift while in awkward positions, work off of a mechanics creeper while lying on the back, and stand on a concrete floor for several hours at a time.
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent and have at least five years of mechanical experience in automotive, diesel engines, and hydraulics.
