Copper Valley Electric Association (Glennallen, AK) is accepting applications for the position of Operations Manager in the Valdez or Copper Basin district. 

Key Tasks

• Ensuring CVEA's distribution, transmission, and substation facilities are maintained, operated, and constructed in a safe and efficient manner consistent with industry standards and regulations
• Supports the Cooperative's vision of excellent customer service, represents the Cooperative, and develops and maintains relationships with the community
• Provides day-to-day supervision and development of the Line Foreman and line crews
• Performs on-call duty, responds to outage and system emergencies when necessary
• Oversees the Cooperative's fleet of vehicles and equipment

The Operations Manager reports to the Chief Operating Officer. There is a six-month probationary period for the successful applicant.

Requirements

• Position will be located in Glennallen or Valdez, Alaska
• A valid, or the ability to obtain, Alaska Driver's License is required
• Must be able to travel between CVEA's Valdez and Copper Basin districts and to remote locations, on both a scheduled and emergency basis
• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, or any equivalent combination of education and experience
• A two-year technical degree is preferred, or a technical certification as a Journeyman Lineman
• Ten years progressively responsible experience in the electric utility industry and system operations experience with an electric utility
