JOURNEYMAN LINEMAN
Navopache Electric Cooperative, Inc. (NEC)
St. John’s, Arizona Office
NEC is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of a Journeyman Lineman in its St. John’s, Arizona Office. NEC is situated within the White Mountains of Arizona. It is a place of beautiful scenery, mild climate and has a small community atmosphere where you know your neighbors. Hiking, hunting, fishing and other outdoors sports for fun and relaxation are all possible when you live in the “White Mountains”.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform all phases of line and sub-station construction, operation, maintenance and service work in accordance with Navopache Electric standards and/or other governmental rules and regulations. Under the direct supervision of the Area Representative or other supervision depending on assignment and location.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Formal Education
High School education (or equivalent).
Must have completed a formal four (4) year Journeyman Lineman Apprenticeship program and must have a valid Journeyman card.
A thorough knowledge of all line materials, assemblies, equipment and apparatus, as well as RUS Specifications and NEC internal construction standards is required.
A thorough knowledge of Hot Line preventive maintenance work is required.
Special Skills
Good physical condition is required.
A thorough knowledge and understanding of all applicable safety rules, regulations and practices is required
Have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid Class “A” Arizona Commercial Driver’s License within 30 days of employment.
Live within a 30- mile radius of the reporting office.
HOURS OF OPERATION: 4/10s The cooperative is currently on a 4/10 schedule (Monday through Thursday).
SALARY: The rate of pay for a Journeyman Lineman is $51.50/hr.
