This person will perform analytical and reporting duties to support the organization, including designing and developing database management, data analytics, and data visualization products.
Success will require a working knowledge of the electric industry in the PNW, the cooperative utility business model, and BPA contracts and customer relationships.
This person will create and automate reports in support of load forecasting and resource planning functions and will also conduct member specific data analysis and economic evaluations. Participate in the preparation testimony to BPA and reports and recommendations to the PNGC Board of Directors will also be required from time to time.
As an integral team member, this person will also ensure that the above are carried out and coordinated in a manner consistent with PNGC’s overall financial and policy objectives.
DUTIES (Include the following types of tasks):
Develop and create data visualizations and reporting tools in support of PNGC Power Supply and organization-wide metrics
Design and develop the data infrastructure to accelerate the process of data analysis
Complete end-of-month reporting for power supply department as needed by PNGC Accounting and Finance group
Provide analytical support for PNGC’s power supply department, including monthly reporting and metric tracking
Compile and manage economic data to support power supply department.
Prepare and complete regulatory reporting for state and federal obligations
Participate in BPA rate cases.
Management reserves the right to update tasks and responsibilities as it sees fit to manage the objectives of PNGC Power and its Members.
POSITION KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong analytical skills, including statistical analysis, regression and forecasting models.
Experience with R and/or Python required.
Expert with Data visualization software (Tableau or other) required.
Effective and appropriate communication, both orally and in writing at all levels within the organization with limited contact with outside partners.
Ability to share complex data in a way that is perceived as understandable, respectful and informative.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint, with extensive knowledge of Excel and other analytical tools.
Professional presence which promotes responsible, reliable and efficient work habits.
Able to follow written and oral instructions, and work independently with little supervision.
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, data science, economics, statistics, or equivalent experience.
