Essential Job Functions
Helper level or a Journeyman
Install/change meters and AMI network equipment
Test transformers
Maintains proper housekeeping standards for trucks and equipment.
Exhibits safe use, care, and storage of tools
Uses technology for work process software and standard office tasks
Investigate high bills and complaints related to metering
Performs work activities as assigned and coached by higher-level employees
Available to work after hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as required

Looks for opportunities to learn the workflow, while keeping in mind the safety of other employees and the
public
Uses initiative in looking to increase job knowledge and technical skills
Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously

Able to effectively communicate with the general public and maintain good member relations

Follows TCEC safety rules and procedures
Attentive to safety - watches peers' backs, professional training on safety, etc.
Position Requirements
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience determines level of Meter Tech
Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol tests, physical, and background check
Must possess basic computer literacy, knowledge, and skills
Must possess a valid state driver's license (CDL - Class A preferred)
Job Training (to be conducted with a Journeyman)
Smith Driving System
Learn the use of the meter test boards
Learn to maintain meter shop spreadsheets with returned meter inventories
Obtain forklift certification
First Aid and CPR Certification
Learn the use of single-phase power quality recorder
Learn to use multimeter
Learn to use meter tester for single-phase service
Learn color coordination and configuration of current transformer/potential transformer wire harnesses
Learn basics of meter communication software
Train on proper care and use of PPE
Relationships
Reports to: Meter and Fiber Infrastructure Manager
Physical Demands
(Scale: Rarely = Less than 5%, Occasionally = 5% - 25%, Frequently = More than 25%)
Heavy lifting or moving of materials: Frequently - Up to 50lbs.
