The Fiber Splicing Technician is responsible for the installation, splicing, testing and maintenance of fiberoptic cable. This role includes precision fusion splicing of large fiber counts, troubleshooting fiber plant, construction of aerial plant – to include strand and lashing. The Fiber Splicing Technician must be able to work independently and alongside Broadband Technicians, Contractors, and other departments to deliver high-quality, timely results. This position will be part of an on-call rotation and may require weekend, afterhours or holiday shifts.
Valid Texas Driver’s License and Related Insurance • Must pass background and drug screening • The position may be required to work irregular hours, overtime, on-call, and travel within BEC’s service territory.
