The successful applicant may report out of either of our Nucla or Ridgway office locations within our beautiful service territory. SMPA is a non-profit electric cooperative with an 80-year record of service to our membership. JOB SUMMARY
The Manager of Information Technology is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining SMPA’s information technology strategy in alignment with the cooperative’s mission and strategic goals. This role oversees all IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, telecommunications, and GIS-related technologies supporting electric utility operations.
The position ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of systems critical to electric service delivery, regulatory compliance, and member services.

MINIMUM JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 4 years of progressively responsible IT experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Experience supporting enterprise IT systems, networks, and cybersecurity programs.
- Working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) preferred.
- Valid Colorado driver’s license (or ability to obtain).
