Southern Illinois Power Cooperative (SIPC), a generation and transmission electric cooperative located and operated in southern Illinois, is seeking an individual for the position of Accounts Payable & Utility Clerk. The location is south of Marion, Illinois at the Lake of Egypt.
Duties and responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to, the review of all payments and related invoices for accuracy, including contractual obligations and ensure all payments are following Cooperative policy. Duties also include entry of all vouchers into software and obtaining all required approvals, processing payments, month-end balancing and assisting with annual budget and audit preparation.
This position requires 3-5 years of financial accounting experience. The applicant must possess an aptitude for learning and utilizing various computer software programs; must exemplify an eye for detail; and must communicate clearly and concisely with team members, Board members and outside agencies. Position requires an individual with strong organizational skills who can meet deadlines and meet departmental and cooperative goals. This position is in a collective bargaining agreement, with a starting hourly wage of $28.26.
