 Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director of Finance is responsible for overall direction and accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of the accounting by performing duties personally or through subordinate employees. The candidate for this position must have extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. 
 While performing professional duties, the Director of Finance upholds the High Plains Power Mission while reinforcing the Strategic Goals of the Cooperative.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
 
 Manages and supervises employees in Accounting. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these listed positions. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with High Plains Power policies and applicable laws. 
 Responsible for training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; completing performance appraisals; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 
 Establish procedures and proper controls over all accounting and billing department tasks. Suggests and implements process improvements. 
 Ensure financial accounts are reconciled and analyzed for the purposes of updating significant estimates, changing assumptions, or correcting misstatements. 
 Ensure necessary journal entries are prepared and properly recorded. Control all adjustments to the general and subsidiary ledgers. 
 Work with the senior leadership team to develop and improve accounting policies and procedures, internal controls, reporting and information flow. Ensure controls over financial data are in place and operating effectively. 
 Prepares necessary documentation and reports for Cooperative audits. Assists with the issuance of the annual financial report. 
 Under the direction of the CEO, manages and monitors the cash of the cooperative. The Director of Finance will wire and invest funds as necessary and in accordance with HPP&#8217;s policies and procedures. Efforts will be focused on maximizing investment earnings by reviewing cash positions and forecasting cash balances. Prepare regular reporting on cash positions and forecasts. 
 Assists with working with department heads in preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification. 
 Assists in preparation of the long-term financial forecast. 
 Ensure proper controls are in place to safeguard HPP&#8217;s assets. 
 Manage all aspects of HPP&#8217;s banking protocols. Administer user profiles for all who have access to online banking platforms. 
 Compiles consolidated financial statements and revenue reports on a monthly basis. 
 Directs and oversees required quarterly and year-end accounting, finance and federal and state forms/reports. 
 Reviews and keeps informed with accounting procedures. 
 Assists department managers to ensure that all information necessary for proper accounting records are complete and correctly reported.

 Responsible for tools and material assigned to the vehicle on which they are working as well as the general good housekeeping of vehicles. 
 Assists the Substations Superintendent in planning, developing, and recommending work plans and programs pertaining to substations. 
 May participate in on-call rotations for outages and associated interruptions after normal working hours, and on holidays and weekends. Maintains availability for necessary on-call and work outside of normal working hours. 
 Provides training to cooperative personnel as needed.

 WORKING CONDITIONS 
 Work is performed both inside and outside. The employee must frequently move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move up to 100 pounds. There may be moderate safety hazards from falling objects or improperly handled equipment. This position will normally have regular hours of work with irregular volume of activity.  As a Member Service Representative (MSR), your role involves delivering prompt, efficient, and courteous service to PRECorp&#8217;s member-owners. PRECorp seeks energetic professionals who prioritize meeting the needs of the cooperative&#8217;s members. An MSR&#8217;s typical duties include responding to member calls, emails, and walk-ins, assisting with inquiries about billing, payments, rates, and electric usage, and helping with payment arrangements, capital credit questions, and related processes. MSR&#8217;s also create service orders for various requests, such as new services, disconnections/retirements, reconnections, service transfers, upgrades, and issues with security lights or equipment.

 Additionally, PRECorp&#8217;s MSRs provide members with information about special programs like PREPay, Heat Rate, Net Metering, Budget Billing, and Time of Use Rate, which are detailed on the Powder River Energy Corporation website under the &#8220;Energy Center&#8221; tab. As a MSR, you are expected to maintain high standards of productivity, efficiency, quality, and professionalism in fulfilling the cooperative&#8217;s member service needs.

 Complete knowledge of RUS specification or other electrical industry specification and work rules as they relate to line personnel and public safety. 
 Proven skill in working with co-workers and maintaining working relations between departments

 Skill in performing above duties with the use of appropriate computer and general office equipment 
 Must have the ability to organize work and meet 
 Solid interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization required. 
 
 MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 
 
 Associate Degree with emphasis in Industrial Safety or equivalent specialized training or experience in safe practices associated with power line construction, maintenance, and College education and/or CLCP certification preferred, but not required at time of hire, but must be completed within 5 years. 
 Three (3) to five (5) years&#8217; experience in actual line construction and maintenance or five (5) years&#8217; experience in power line safety. 
 Journeyman Lineman&#8217;s qualifications. 
 
 LICENSES REQUIRED
