Job Summary:
This position serves as the point of contact for the Cooperative, providing professional, courteous, and informed member relations to all members, visitors, and callers. The role is responsible for ensuring a positive member experience by accurately directing inquiries, taking messages, and providing administrative support. The position also assists other departments as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as the primary receptionist by greeting and directing members, visitors, and employees in a professional manner and supporting communication through telephone, email, and other electronic means.
Provides front office and administrative support to include member services, account processing, application handling, and general communication of Cooperative policies and procedures.
Assists with member services, including answering general member inquiries, account member portals, calling members as directed and researching and responding to member questions.
Maintain the confidentiality and security of member information in accordance with company policy.
Handles and distributes incoming mail and answering correspondence as needed.
Processes payment and financial transactions, including member payments, mail payment, kiosk assistance, cash handling, and preparation of bank deposits.
Maintains lobby operations by monitoring activity, ensuring proper appearance and supply levels, and directing individuals to appropriate personnel or locations.
Performs document management and recordkeeping while ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
Must maintain consistent on-site attendance during established business hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) to ensure operational coverage.
Provides back-up support for all MWEC locations when needed to ensure lobby coverage.
Performs other duties as assigned to support Cooperative objectives.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge:
Knowledge of corporate policies and procedures.
Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures related to lobby operations (e.g., May Day procedures).
Understanding of document management and filing systems.
Basic knowledge of financial processing (payments, deposits, cash handling procedures).
Basic knowledge of clerical and office procedures.
Familiarity with office equipment and multi-line telephone systems.
Working knowledge of confidentiality requirements for member and organizational information.
Skills:
Typing and data entry skills.
Proficiency with computers and standard office software.
Strong interpersonal, customer service, and verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and interruptions.
Cash handling and basic bookkeeping skills.
Abilities:
Demonstrates sound judgment, professionalism, and effective decision-making.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to multitask effectively, maintain accuracy, and pay close attention to detail in financial, administrative, and documentation tasks.

Ability to remain aware of lobby conditions and respond appropriately.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Qualifications:
Experience:
One year of general office experience is preferred, but not required.
Education and Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to obtain Notary Public commission.
Driving is required. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license that meets the company driving standards and successfully pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) check.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
This position is primarily office-based and involves regular use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copiers. Candidates must be able to sit for extended periods of time, use a keyboard, and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills, hearing, and vision. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
Normal, non-smoking office environment with occasional travel required. Primarily sedentary work performed indoors at a desk, involving prolonged sitting and frequent repetitive hand and finger movements (e.g. typing, dialing). May lift up to 30 pounds (e.g. marketing displays). Requires use of standard office equipment, including computer, copier, and printer. Position involves reading, writing, arithmetic, data analysis, research, and development of plans, procedures, and goals. Must effectively communicate and present information to individuals and groups and work under pressure.
