Position Summary: Provides a wide range of forecasting and other business planning support services to Central and Member Cooperatives. Provides delivery point forecasts. Manages the development and maintenance of a wide range of databases used in the preparation of forecasting and other services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares Central’s load forecast. Work consists of extensive econometric analysis, producing the forecast, generating the final report, and presentation of the forecast to a wide variety of stakeholders. Utilizes skills in modeling and regression analysis to assist staff in forecast preparation.
Updates annually substation level forecasts. Reviews modeling requirements and evaluates new facilities to be included in system models. Ensures that transmission service plans are coordinated with load forecast data.
Creates and/or reviews database required for the annual SCPSA system load forecast. Provides Central data to SCPSA, review the results of the forecast, and recommends approval to senior management.
Performs analytical support to Central and Member Cooperatives.
Ensures that Central economic, demographic, and load forecasting databases used in all the forecasts stated above and other projects are properly maintained.
Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong quantitative analysis skills.
Good formal presentation and technical writing abilities required.
Ability to work under pressure and immediate deadlines.
Strong collaborative skills
Reports, studies, economic analyses and forecasts all require accuracy and detail.
Strong internal drive for excellence and service orientation are preferred.
Experience with SAE forecasting and Itron Metrix products is preferred.
Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, engineering, mathematics.
5 years prior experience in utility load forecasting.
Experience with linear regression models required.
Strong Excel skills required.
