McLeod Cooperative Power Association is seeking a skilled and safety-minded Journeyman Lineman to join our Operations team. In this role, you’ll help construct, maintain, and restore our electric distribution system while providing reliable service to our members.
Key Responsibilities
Construct, maintain, operate, and repair overhead and underground electric distribution facilities.
Respond to power outages, troubleshoot electrical issues, and restore service safely and efficiently.
Participate in the on-call rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays, for emergency restoration.
Perform switching operations and maintain a thorough knowledge of the Cooperative’s electrical distribution system.
Operate and maintain Cooperative vehicles, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain accurate work records and complete required documentation.
Assist in training and mentoring apprentice linemen and other crew members.
Promote a strong culture of safety while complying with Cooperative policies, OSHA regulations, RUS specifications, and the National Electrical Safety Code.
Provide exceptional service and maintain positive relationships with Cooperative members.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Journeyman Lineman Certificate from an approved apprenticeship program.
Minimum of four years of electric utility operations experience.
Knowledge or overhead and underground distribution systems, utility construction practices, and electrical safety standards.
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and respond to emergency callouts.
