Overview
We are seeking an Apprentice Linemen to join our team. This paid apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to develop essential skills in electrical line work, including high-voltage systems, groundwork, and maintenance. As an Apprentice Lineman, you will learn from experienced professionals while contributing to the safety and reliability of our electrical infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- 6 Months: Demonstrates ability to use tools and equipment necessary to the routine construction and maintenance of transmission line facilities. Follows safety procedures. Begins “Basic Electricity” course.
- 1 Year: Climbs poles and assists linemen on unenergized conductors of higher voltage rating and performs groundwork as directed.
- 18 Months: Performs work on energized conductors up to 480 volt rating. Has completed “Basic Electricity” course.
- 2 Years: Demonstrates ability to perform elementary work on higher voltages under the direct supervision of a lineman.
- 3 Years: Performs advanced work on energized circuits including hot sticking and installing transformers under direct supervision of a lineman. Is familiar with switching procedures including obtaining clearance and hold orders.
- 4 Years: Performs all duties of a skilled lineman.
Basic knowledge of electricity. Must demonstrate ability to follow instructions and safety procedures as directed. CDL required. High School Diploma required.
