Job Summary
The Fleet Technician
- Reviews, inspects, diagnoses, and performs maintenance and repair work on cars, trucks, and equipment in the company’s fleet.
- Ensures all fleet assets are serviced according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Minimum Job Specifications
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent and a technical vocational or trade school diploma or degree in automotive truck and/or heavy equipment service repair and maintenance is highly desirable.
- Five years of experience or a combination of relevant education and experience is required.
- Extensive knowledge of all phases of auto and truck repair such as tune-ups, brakes, charging system, lighting system, fuel and carburetor, exhaust, vehicle diagnostics and starting system.
- Welding experience is preferred.
- Computer skills adequate to perform necessary tasks including fleet tracking, electronic maintenance records and other general computer programs.
- Working knowledge of OSHA requirements as they impact the mechanic’s shop and fleet.
- The ability to work without direct supervision.
- Excellent organization, written and verbal communication skills.
- Certification to operate a forklift.
- A valid Colorado Class A CDL driver’s license.
- The employee to represent the co-op in a progressive, positive, and professional manner in all relationships, both internal and external.
