Work Location: Elk River, Minnesota OR another Great River Energy (GRE) facility could be considered as a home work location.
Please note: Extensive field time is expected to require at least 50% travel.

Summary:
The Safety Administrator is responsible for developing and administering safety, occupational health, and industrial hygiene programs and policies in conjunction with the transmission division and corporate safety programs to support a safe work environment and strong culture of safety and learning.
Total Rewards:
A typical starting range for this position is $105,000 - $144,000 + annually. Responsibilities: Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Develop and implement safety programs that support a safe work environment and a strong safety culture based on the primary hazards related to employee work tasks, the principles of whole-person safety, and a continuous learning culture.
· Participation on the company human performance team to promote a learning culture.
· Conduct human performance event learning reviews related to both employee injuries and operational events based on the principles of human performance improvement to uncover causes and implement actions to prevent future occurrence.
· Participate regularly in transmission jobsite visits to promote learning for employees and from employees.
· Promote submissions for good catches using the human performance program and current safety structure.
· Share information with employees about safety programs, best practices, and expectations if unsafe or suboptimal conditions or practices are observed.
· Act and resolve safety concerns in an appropriate and timely manner.
Qualifications:
· Four-year degree in safety, occupational health, business management or related degree.
· CSP, CLCP or CUSA certification.
· 5+ years of experience in safety and training.
· Knowledge of all appropriate electric utility/health regulations including MN AWAIR Act, National Electric Safety Code, National Fire Code, American National Safety Institute (ANSI) codes, Occupational Safety and Health standards (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
· Knowledge of safety codes and other standards that apply to the construction and maintenance of transmission lines and substations.
· Knowledge of practical operational aspects of industrial facilities and broad knowledge of hazard control, injury prevention and property damage control.
· Knowledge of Minnesota Workers Compensation.
· Ability to develop and instruct safety/health training programs, maintaining records and maintaining compliance within an organization.
· Ability to conduct research, interpret safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
· Skilled in leadership and the ability to effectively promote safety and health programs.
· Skilled at effective written and verbal communication with various audiences.
· Skill in conflict resolution which includes the ability to address differences of opinions or facts and use the most appropriate method to reach an effective solution.
· Ability to plan, organize, prioritize time/workload and delegate work to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines.
· Ability to build and maintain effective work relationships with co-workers and external customers.
· Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations.
