GVEA is an electric cooperative that maintains 3,292 miles of transmission and distribution lines, 40 substations, and 9 generating facilities. YOUR ROLE AS THE Healy Maintenance Manager
As the Healy Maintenance Manager at Golden Valley Electric Association, you will oversee the overall operation of the Maintenance department, including environmental compliance, plant performance, culture, personnel, and regulatory, technical, and technology-related functions. This role is essential in instilling a strong safety-first culture while maintaining a rigorous maintenance program that aligns with operational needs and ensures the reliable operation of the Healy Power Plants.
Requirements for this Healy Maintenance Manager job
To excel as the Full Time Healy Maintenance Manager at Golden Valley Electric Association, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or have a minimum of ten years of maintenance experience in an industrial coal-fired plant or related field. Additionally, applicants should have at least four years of experience in a management role within a power plant setting, with a proven track record of budget management. Strong supervisory, leadership, and project management skills are essential, as well as experience in labor contract administration and contractor management.
Successful candidates will be able to leverage their technical expertise and leadership abilities to drive operational excellence and ensure the smooth functioning of our maintenance department in Healy, Alaska.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or minimum ten years maintenance experience in industrial coal-fired plant or related relevant experience.
Four years’ experience in a management position in a power plant environment with demonstrated budgetary experience.
Demonstrated supervisor, leadership and project management experience.
Demonstrated experience with labor contract administration.
Demonstrated contractor management experience.

Golden Valley Electric Association is a member-owned electric cooperative that has been serving Interior Alaska residents since 1946. GVEA has nearly 300 employees and is the third largest electric utility in Alaska, serving nearly 100,000 residents in Fairbanks, North Pole, Delta Junction, Nenana, Healy, Denali National Park and Cantwell.
