The Bull Cook is responsible for maintaining sanitation and housekeeping standards throughout the Beluga Power Plant facility, including but not limited to barracks, bathrooms, offices, common areas, kitchen, dining areas, food storage areas, counters, etc. This position supports kitchen operation in compliance with all applicable state regulations and Chugach policies.
EXAMPLES OF KITCHEN DUTIES
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, dining areas, break rooms, and food service areas; stock condiments, paper products, and supplies as needed.
Assist with food preparation, including washing, cutting, and preparing fruits, vegetables, meats, eggs, pasta, desserts, and special diet items, following standard recipes and approved methods.
Store, label, date, rotate, and handle food in accordance with health department regulations; plan for varying population levels.
Monitor and verify proper food temperatures using approved thermometers.
Operate, clean, and sanitize food service equipment, including dishwashers, mixers, slicers, processors, grinders, fryers, hoods, and related equipment.
Prepare food items and platters for break rooms and maintain stocked snack areas.
Receive incoming flights as needed to pick up groceries, water, soda, newspapers, and supplies; assist with grocery check?in, storage, and first?in/first?out (FIFO) rotation.
Assist during meal service by bussing tables, washing dishes, and supporting the Cook or Kitchen Bull Cook as needed.
Assist with training culinary personnel.
Other duties as assigned.
EXAMPLES OF HOUSEKEEPING DUTIES
Perform housekeeping and sanitation duties in barracks, offices, common areas, exercise rooms, entryways, and restrooms.
Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and remove trash from assigned areas; keep hallways and common areas clean and unobstructed.
Make beds, change linens on scheduled days, replace towels and washcloths, and ensure linens are clean and in good condition.
Clean sinks, showers, toilets, mirrors, floors, and fixtures; restock soap and paper products as needed.
Clean and maintain laundry rooms, washers, dryers, and lint screens; report equipment issues to supervision.
Use and handle cleaning chemicals safely, including restroom, laundry, and general facility cleaning products.
Inspect rooms and facilities for maintenance concerns and report issues promptly.
Maintain awareness of day sleepers and adjust work activities to minimize disturbance.
Assist with the training of housekeeping personnel.
Other duties as assigned.

Provide appropriate work clothes and safety shoes kept in a clean, neat manner.
Provide proper hair restraints and maintain personal hygiene in compliance with State of Alaska Health Codes and Chugach Policies.

Qualifications
Must possess a current State of Alaska Food Worker Card.
Current ServSafe certificate or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
Minimum of one (1) year of bull cook experience.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Ability to travel in a small aircraft.
Ability to live in camp facilities for seven (7) days or more and work twelve (12) or more hours per day.
Flexibility to remain in camp due to weather delays, sickness or other unforeseen circumstances affecting arrival of relief staff.
Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
Proven ability to uphold ethical and professional conduct.
Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, organize workflow and work independently with minimal supervision.
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
